TAPs - Modify your Toppy

Sooner or later you will wish to take advantage of the wide range of TAP Topfield Application files available and try out some cool new programs on your Toppy. There are somewhere around 200 different ones available that do everything from change the way certain remote control keys work to thoroughly alter the look and feel of the interface to your Toppy.

Below is a summary of the four main TAPs that I use. You can find these and many others on two excellent sites; Toppy.Org.UK and TAPWORLD.

Quickjump

This simple TAP is perhaps one of the most useful. It makes the four coloured buttons on the remote jump forward and backward set amounts during playback. It's great for quick skipping of advert breaks and the other guff between programmes.

EPG Navigator

This superb TAP replaces the built in Electronic Programme Guide with one that not only looks better, but displays more information more clearly as well. It allows easy navigation through the week's TV and also has a handy link with UK Auto Scheduler.

UK Auto Scheduler

To really get the most from your Toppy you will want a great way of adding timers. UK Auto Scheduler offers this with keyword based searching of the EPG. By setting up these keyword based searches it becomes easy to record an entire series of programmes over the weeks. You can even get UKAS to file them for you into folders for later.

UK Timers

This neat TAP makes sense of your timers. The built in timer list isn't the most easy to read and so I use UK Timers to show what's going to record each day in a clear laid out fashion. There's a page for each day of the week and a grand summary with every event. The look matches that of UK Auto Scheduler and has support for channel logos too.
